Mixing it up...

I usually create with one ScrapaGoGo kit at a time but for this Lo I mixed a little of May's kit with the remains of my June kit using a photo taken on a recent visit to Auschwitz II Birkenau. This shocking place had a profound effect on me & my feelings are written on the back of this Lo to keep them out of view.
I layered the scraps of patterned papers behind the photo & wrote my title free hand on part of a manufacturers strip. The "confetti" was punched using both holes of the cropodile from leftover paper and attached using glossy accents.
 Many thanks for looking x

Rain rain go away !

Driving home from a trip to Manchester today you will forgive me for struggling to remember what month it is!! The sky was full of dark clouds, there were bursts of torrential rain & roads covered in inches of water...

but this was nothing compared to what was happening at home!
with Huge hail stones crashing down...
Next week is July, what sort of summer are we really going to have :(

V.I.P.

Yesterday we were thrilled when a very special little person & his family came to visit us. Harriet had been hoping to meet him for weeks now but we needed him to be home & stable first.
Jack x
What a gorgeous little man he is too xxx
Harriet was smitten with him :)
He is so full of fun & mischief. At present he's home, putting on weight & developing well surrounded by so much love from his parents & extended family but still requires a liver transplant when one becomes available for him.
I'll keep you up dated on Jack's progress x

End of an Era

Today after 3 years of providing sketch inspiration for scrapbookers & card makers alike, Twisted Sketches closed it's doors. I have been privileged to be a member of the Design Team here for the last 18months. Anam's sketches with a twist have proved to be really inspirational for me & a great starting point for scrapbooking.
Today both teams came together for the final sketch with a Twist - Thanks.

You are so Loved.
The background was misted using a Crafters Workshop template & Mr Huey mists. The papers, sticker title & chipboard shape are from Echo Park.
This is a photo of my husband I took about 18months ago & I love it.
The typed journalling says:-
Thanks for listening, Thanks for being there, Thanks for choosing me, Thanks for the last 23 years.
Many thanks for looking x

Finally Finished ...

As you all know I've been working on a blooming flower cushion for my Daughters bedroom using a pattern from the Attic 24 blog.
While I had a lovely visitor at the beginning of the week I finally got the chance to sit down, sew in the hateful ends ! & sew in the cushion pad.
Ta-dah!!!

The back is just increasing circles so grew really quickly.

Harriet is thrilled with it & to be honest so am I as it's the most complicated crochet pattern I've followed to date. I would certainly make another in a different colour ways.

Fun & Frolics!

Over the last two days the sun has been shining here in Coventry & I've had a visit from my good friend Eileen :) It was her first time here so to make the most of the good weather I took her to Kenilworth Castle which is very close by & we took a few photos...

I even got a little pink in the glorious sunshine!!
Today we have mainly been chatting, eating & scrapping :D I talk to this lovely Lady regularly on skype because we live so far apart but being able to spend some quality time with her was just the best. I'm hoping it's something we can repeat again soon xxx

And another...

page from my ScrapaGoGo June kit "Sketch me a Story". This one features our Daughter taking photos with her own camera whilst on a "safari" in Florida.

Snap Happy.
To add her own pics to the Lo without overcrowding it, I made a mini accordion album as the camera lens to house 8 of the photos she took.
It's kept closed using the string from the tag. The camera print strip was made using the stamp in this kit.
The page is finished with the green Thicker alpha & some of the exclusive hybrids.

Scrapping :)

I love that moment when I open my ScrapaGoGo kit. Nothing beats that first glimpse & then my brain starts planning & I start pairing up papers & embellishments whilst remembering photos I've taken over the years.

June Kit " Sketch me a Story"
Here is my first Lo from this kit.
Essentially Me.
Based on the monthly sketch- Blueprint To Go, featuring a caricature drawn of myself by my talented childhood friend Sarah x
I removed the blackboard from the peg & using strips of cardstock made an easel to hold my title. The diamonds are stamped using the frame stamp in the kit.
Many thanks for looking.

Birthday with a Twist

Over at Twisted Sketches we are celebrating the sites 3rd birthday with a fabulous sketch & the Twist - Three.
As a Mum of 3 this was my first thought when I saw the Twist & had me searching for photos from 2000 when my youngest was born. The boys look so thrilled to have a baby Sister, I'm not sure they still feel the same :D

And Then There Were Three.
( the title is a Genisis song title I think!)

I took my colour scheme from the photo, rather than using more traditional baby colours. With such a long title I used a selection of alpha stickers. The rosettes are made using the tim Holtz Sizzix die.
I cut the cute little sentiment using a silhouette file on my Craft Robo.

Blueprint to go - May

I love how ScrapaGoGo provide a sketch each month for added inspiration on their Clubhouse.
I really liked the look of the sketch & used an old photo of my eldest on his 2nd birthday as it really complimented the colours of the papers I had left from my May kit "From the Desk of..."
So Excited.
I stuck pretty much to the basic shapes of the sketch & used up the scraps making the pennant banner at the top of the photo & the tabs from the october Afternoon paper to spell out my Son's initials.
 Many thanks for looking x
